Beauty Buzz. Products I’m Loving Right Now

June 3, 2010 • Magazine

OK, here's the deal. I'm sent quite a lot of beauty products to test and while I try to cover the best for you all, I sometimes get backlogged. The ones I don't care for I don't tell you about because I don't want to waste your (or my) time. So here are some of my current faves:

Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion Medium Bronzing Formula

This lotion is amazing! I'm not kidding it goes on like a dream and makes your skin super soft. As the name says…it's very emollient. Add to that it gradually self-tans your skin in a very subtle shade of bronze after a few days. The signature ingredients are nourishing safflower oil and protective shea butter. Use daily to enhance your natural skin color and create an even, year-round glow. An infusion of aloe vera, chamomile and green tea extracts help to soothe and repair dry, thirsty skin.

The only slight drawback is that it smells like self-tanner so it could compete with your perfume. However, I was able to put my clothes on immediately after applying which is a total bonus. I can never wait 5-10 minutes. Who has the time?

Alba Botanica Body Lotion Very Emollient Medium Bronze $9.08 for 8 fl oz

Noah's Naturals Natural Age Repair Rejuvenating Body Wash

This new body wash takes you away to a spa the instant you smell it. At least it does for me. The scent of rosemary and mint is a complete luxury. This natural age repairing body wash is enriched with Aloe Vera and Jojoba Seed Oil which is supposed to hydrate you for hours and protect your skin. It also lathers like crazy which I love and a little goes a long way. It's my 5 minute spa escape. I'm seriously hooked.

It's ideal for all skin types, not tested on animals, has no harsh sulfates or Propylene and is Paraben free.

Noah's Naturals Natural Age Repair Rejuvenating Body Wash $10.47 for 8.45 oz

L'Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll On Makeup SPF 25

True this is a little gimmicky, but I'm a sucker for a good gimmick and who isn't sucked in by this ad? Hey, if this foundation covers well I'm all over it. Especially if it's under $15. Who doesn't want an airbrushed look with their foundation? L'Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll On Makeup is basically a cream foundation with a foam roller brush applicator. Like a foam sponge on a roller. Hygienic? Not really since unlike my sponges, you can't throw this away after one use. Anyway, the roller is supposed to crate a streak-free airbrushed look. Honestly, it takes a few tries to perfect and I have to use my fingers to blend it, especially around the nose which doesn't take to the roller well. However, I do really like the coverage…and the price. I'm a huge fan of L'Oreal for budget friendly drugstore finds.
