Go Hawks! Break The Fashion Rules: Wear Red and Black Today!

June 11, 2010 • Off-Topic

The Stanley Cup in the arms of the Blackhawks! Toews and Kane in the parade.

The parade on Washington Street went right past Second City Style's Chicago office!

Chicago is holding a huge parade and rally today for our Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champions. I can't believe I can actually say it! The whole town is emotional. In the words of Jeremy Roenick (who burst into tears on national television), "…um…It's the Chicago Blackhawks, man."

So with the tune of The Fratellis replaying in my head and the urge to hip hop dance…I realized I simply must wear black and red today!

Yes, I know it goes against all fashion precaution. Those two strong colors, red and black, that unless put together just right, can look oh so dreadful. You don't want to look like you are a steakhouse waitress, a casino dealer, or a lady of the night.

So just for today, throw caution to the wind! Wear red and black proudly! More fashion advise: if you are a Cub fan wear red, and a Sox fan wear black. That will make for an easy wardrobe transition should you be going to the Cross Town Classic later today!

What a great day in sports for Chicago. Congratulations Blackhawks!
