It’s summer and I can’t help but wish I was on the beach. The thought of the sand, the smell of fresh water and the tropical air takes me back to my Honeymoon in Mexico where days on the beach were spent in the sun, and yes, exfoliating. The soft white sand was the perfect exfoliate for my dull skin, and left my skin amazingly soft. But as I wake up out of my day dream I realize I am far from the beach, but not too far from some of my favorite body scrubs. The scents of Brazil nut, Shea butter and creme brulee, remind me of the tropics, which makes using them a big indulgence. Here are some scrubs that will leave your skin wanting more!
1. Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish $35-68
This body scrub has the cult following it proudly deserves. It was the first sugar exfoliate on the market! The heavenly scent of pure brown sugar, mixed with some of the finest ingredients of evening primrose, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and jojoba also has the fresh fragrance of lemon. It is sure to leave your skin smelling sweet and invigorated.
2. Dr. Ro Sugar Shea Body Scrub $28
This sugar scrub is one of my new favorites for it’s ultra soft texture. You wouldn’t think a body scrub should be described this way but this is! It combines a body butter with a sugar scrub, that has an amazing blend of grapefruit orange and canola oils with mango nut butter and vanilla. Sounds like it should be on my plate! This scrub’s blend of natural sugar cane and Shea butter gently exfoliates your skin leaving it glowing!
3. The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Scrub $20
The Body Shop Body Butters and Scrubs have always been a favorite indulgence, and it is green! This Community Trade line uses the best natural ingredients, like walnut shells, cocoa butter and Brazil nut oil to make your skin supple. Just a whiff of the scent takes me to a beach in Jamaica!
4. Laura Mercier Crème Brulee Sugar Scrub $46
My luxury indulgence happens to come from Laura Mercier. It’s Creme Brulee Sugar Scrub, and should be edible. It smells just as it sounds with Macadamia Nut & Sweet Almond Oil. It has the hints of caramel with nuances of sugar, vanilla and musk. It’s delicate on the skin with small sugar granules and exfoliating beads infused with Vitamin A and E to moisturize. Leave this scrub on the side of the tub for a fabulous decor accent as well.
5. Neutrogena Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator Energizing Citrus $10.69
A scrub doesn’t have to be expensive to work, the drugstore has some of the best scrubs, and Neutrogena’s Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator is one of them! The natural sugar crystals and botanical oils with its fresh citrus scent invigorates, and is perfect for my afternoon workouts. It stimulates my skin to match my energetic mood, and is gentle enough for daily use.
