J.C. Penney Co. looks like it will be another contender in the collaboration game. Look out, Target!
J.C. Penney has inked a long term deal with Aldo USA Inc. to open shops-in-shops, very similar to the Sephora setups. Stores will be selling Aldo's "Call It Spring" brand, the most updated line to be sold in the shoe assortment. The prices are will range from $29.99 to $69.99 for shoes and $25 to $30 for handbags. This will work well for reaching their target 15- to 30-year old consumers.
Penney is planning to launch about 100 shops-in-shops in Penney stores and jcp.com in the spring, as well as 500 more stores in Fall 2011.
