Whether you’re spending a weekend or a couple weeks in a new city, it
can be tempting to pull out all the stops (what happens in Vegas…) – or
to dress purely for comfort, since hey, you don’t know anyone there
anyways and you’ll be probably be walking a lot.
However, if you are not headed to Sin City (where everyone is a
tourist) you want to avoid the dreaded “tourist” label and get the
same treatment as the locals, here are five things that will work in
almost any city this summer.
Casual Cotton Scarves: A breezy cotton scarf in a
bright color or fun pattern like these ikat prints from Spun by
Subtle Luxury lends polish to simple outfits and can be your best
friend in overly air conditioned environments. When the temperatures
climb, knot it around the handle of your purse or thread it through your
belt loops to keep it off your neck. Bonus: scarves on the larger
side can be used as sarongs poolside, while smaller ones make great
headbands or headwraps.
Slouchy Bag: Leave the structured bags for the
office and carry something that can expand as you fill it with
your camera, water bottle, and other essentials. Any color of the Foley
& Corinna Moto hobo would be fabulous, but the indigo might be
the most versatile.
