The day started off a bit cloudy yesterday, but with a cooling wind that was a welcome reprieve from the sweltering heat. By noon the clouds had parted and the sun shone down generously on the 4th annual Chicago Sidewalk Sale which, thanks to the sun and the cooler temps, was packed. Hosted by Fashion Focus Chicago and held in its annual home of Daley Plaza, the Sidewalk Sale is the one time of year when much of the city's most notable design talent can come together, feature their wares, and offer us lucky shoppers a fantastic deal!
Everywhere you looked, a veritable bounty of sales were being offered. Bursts of colorful jewelry dangled temptingly on branches (above) and glistened on velvet panels. Bright blouses, dresses and bags swayed in the breeze before getting scooped up and carried to the fitting rooms (i.e. the Daley Center restrooms). And the newer trend of graphic tee tents attracted the masses with their bold logos and intricate designs. There was clearly something that everyone could get excited about—including all the smiling, friendly designers who chatted up shoppers and gave thanks for the beautiful day.
See something you can't live without? Well take a long lunch and hurry over to the Daley Plaza (50 West Washington Street) because the Chicago Sidewalk Sale continues today until 3pm! See all these fabulous lines and TONS more! The hardest part will be breaking yourself away.
