One Miu Miu Dress Attacks Newsstands this Month

July 21, 2010 • Celebrity Style

How on earth did the same Miu Miu dress end up three different summer covers? The embellished dress, which ranges from $2,300 to $4,900, ended up on three different stars: Lily Allen on the August British Elle cover, Eva Mendes on the July cover of W, and Freja Beha on the August edition of British Vogue.

So how could this situation have happened? Don't they have people that keep the same dress off of the same month front covers? British Elle editor Lorraine Candy explained how they choose looks for the magazine covers.

"We first see the look on the runway and note it down as a possible for a cover shoot. When we're back in the office, we call it in and match it to the right star. Contrary to popular belief, we don’t shoot covers in sequence. If it fits the mood board concept of the cover shoot and the photographer likes it, we take it to the shoot along with a rail of potential clothes."

And if the celebrities don't like it, they find another outfit. You can bet that the Miu Miu dress will be a big hit this month between celebrities and consumers alike.
