Contrary to popular belief, even fitness guru and reality TV star, Jillian Michaels, would be no match for the newest and most innovative exercise regimen: Barre Bee Fitness. I recently had the pleasure of participating in this total body workout that encompasses the ballet barre, and I am happy to reveal that it was one of the most intense and fulfilling exercise regimens of my life! Although my body is still sore, (72 hours later) I thoroughly enjoyed the variation of exercise movements that ultimately serve to "recode your personal body type."
Founders, Jillian Baumbick and Ariana Chernin credit their new found success to having an "entrepreneurial spirit and offering a fitness program that is truly for everyone." Since it was my first time, the gals weren't shy about letting me know what to expect. "The class is very intense, with isolated movements that will ultimately create a ripped and long lean body, noted Baumbick. It's an energy booster and our clients are starting to notice real changes in their bodies!" Oh, man. What was I thinking?
The class was an hour long blend of Pilates, dance, and yoga that work to push you to your limits. Thirty minutes in, my legs were intensely shaking and I was dreaming of a tall glass of H2o! Both engaging and humorous, Baumbick encouraged the class to "burn through it" – and coached that it wasn't about a "contest", rather, pushing yourself to be reach your best health.
Barre Bee Fitness recently celebrated their 1 month anniversary – and when asked if they'd think about expanding in the near future, the answer was a solid "Yes!" With loyal "barre bee addicts" and tons of great success in their first month, I have no doubt in my mind we'll start to see Barre Bee Fitness boutiques popping up all over the metro Chicago area.
