Ready or not, its that time again—time for us to start looking toward fall fashions. And as much as we'll lament the impending close of summer, we can't help but get pumped for the season to come when labels like Donna Karan are showing off looks as fierce as these from their fall 2010 ad campaign. Always the calling card for female powerhouse style, Donna Karan outdoes herself with this stunning, femme fatale montage starring models Karlie Kloss and Anna J. The campaign seems to pair the label's signature feminine aesthetic with an almost more masculine toughness—like James Bond and his sizzling Bond Girl rolled into one.
Karan credits the concrete jungle feel of New York as her muse for the fall 2010 collection, pairing the angles and edges of the with the dimensions of the clothes. The official statement for the collection notes:
It started with a city, a bodysuit, a pair of tights and the power of a woman. Inspired by the allure of the city, the Fall 2010 ad campaign celebrates the brand – its sophistication, its sensuality, its versatility, its urbanity – with an engimatic, cinematic storyline. Shot in a New York City skyscraper by Patrick Demarchelier against the dramatic backdrop of the city at night, the models – Anna J and Karlie Kloss – exuding strength and sensuality, bring the collection to life, from foundation pieces to evening and beyond. 25 years later the journey continues. Donna Karan New York. For a woman by a woman.
