L’Wren Scott for Lancôme

Uber chic designer L’Wren Scott will be setting her sights on beauty this holiday season, compliments of Lancome.  The designer is teaming with the beauty brand to launch a special capsule collection, which will include a red lipstick, lip gloss and nail polish, among other items. 

first thing I thought of was that I wanted to do my signature red — my
bordeaux,” explained Scott, who worked with Lancôme’s artistic director
for makeup, Aaron De Mey. Scott
said she told Lancôme executives, “I would like to try to interpret a
red lipstick
that could be worn from day to night.”Gray, another commonly used color in her apparel line, is
featured in products like an eye shadow quad, a nail polish (which was
added to the line after being well received during her fall fashion
show) and Hypnôse Drama mascara.

Scott, who has never worked in beauty before, has been an active particpant in the entire creative process, even
working with Mario Testino on the advertisement for the holiday
collection. The campaign stars model Daria Werbowy in a L’Wren Scott dress. Scott also
designed a feather rose brooch and a pochette as gifts with purchase. The designer noted the biggest difference between between creating beauty products vs. fashion was, “the
process of working with the technicians and seeing how it was to
articulate color in makeup versus fabrics.”

L’Wren for Lancôme line will launch internationally by November.
The nail polish will sell in the U.S. for $14.50; the lipstick and the
gloss, $29 each; the eye quad palette, $42, and the mascara, $24.50.
