Whether they were teens themselves or played teens on tv (and in the movies), the younger star set came out to celebrate their overabundance and power in the entertainment industry at the 2010 annual Teen Choice Awards this past Sunday.
With awards like Choice Scene Stealer and Choice Female Hottie, what celeb wouldn't want to come to celebrate their vibrant teenage audience?
But it wasn't only the teens and celebrities that made an impact–it was also the vibrant attire! Besides host Katy Perry's five costume changes, an overabundance of plaid male shirts, and Sandra Bullock's butt in tight leather pants as she grinded to rap music with former Golden Girl Betty White, the clothing punched up the party in true electric youth fashion.
While the 2010 Teen Choice Awards have come and gone this year, we still remember those vivid pieces and why our younger set are so in style!
Embroidered Paisley Print
I assumed this style was so unique it could never be a trend, but more than one A-lister rocked an embroidered paisley print with their wardrobe. These two fashionistas both brought forth a funky aesthetic, each in their own way but with the very same finish. I'm actually not a big fan of this print–they both looked like they were wearing something you would normally find on decorative curtains. But the pattern was intricate and different, nonetheless.
First, Ashley Greene rocked a blush-colored Valentino strapless with this motif on the chest.
Then we saw Kristen Bell flaunting the very same style, though in a quite different fashion. She wore a Stella McCartney dress with an embroidered Indian motif and a red organza overlay.
Who knew white would be the color of summer? Well, it's true they say to get out all your white before Labor Day, and a few of the stylish young celebs at the Teen Choice Awards certainly got their message. It wasn't only about the white though. It was about the white, draped look, an ethereal, romantic, but completely chic new way to wear the statement-making color.
Disney star Selena Gomez looked hip but angelic in a BCBG Max Azria minidress with open sleeves. The ultimate teen star-turned-Greek goddess!
Leighton Meester also chose white, but opted to kick it up a notch with lace and a bit of fluff in an Emilio Pucci minidress and chiffon pom-pom Christian Louboutin satin heels.
Bandage dresses have always been so in–something about the design and the form-fitting wrap-around appeals to the celeb who wants to show off the physique she works hard for. That couldn't be more true for two totally fit celebs like Hilary Duff and Katy Perry.
Perhaps Choice Scene Stealer winner Hilary Duff was the only one to wear a true classic Herve Leger by Max Azria bandage dress in a seafoam color.
But it was Katy Perry who was the clear favorite in her multicolored tight-fitting wrap-around Giorgio Armani. Not a true Herve Leger bandage, but still uber chic.
This wasn't the only outfit worn by the Teen Choice host, but it was certainly her most stylish and most mod dress of the night.
When you've got a young trendy crowd in attendance, you're bound to see a frock with some print pizazz! The Teen Choice Awards saw many a massive print dress but it was Megan Fox who truly stood out–and not for her Choice Hottie award or her PDA with new husband Brian Austin Green.
It's quite difficult to rock a mismatched print look and do it right and the Transformers actress did both! She pairs a blue-and-white top and metallic skirt and somehow makes it work!
Other superb print princesses…
