Stylists Turning to a Life of Crime

Even stars need to watch their bills because nothing is sacred anymore.

Maria Gabriela Perez, skin care specialist to the stars, left jail yesterday on $50,000 bond. The owner of the exclusive Beverly Hills Chez Gabriela Studio was in court on two fraud counts for allegedly adding up to $280,000 in unauthorized charges to bills of Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Liv Tyler and many others.

Perez has been accused of legitimately billing up to $6,000 charges for a single facial then improperly tacking on charges. She then allegedly threw on an extra $214,000 on Liv Tyler's bill.

Even Jennifer Aniston knew something was amiss with her facial bills. "I sort of got out of that world five years ago, because some stuff was, I don't want to say, it wasn't to the extent the other girls have had," she said on "Good Morning America". "We had a situation that was not cool, so I just stopped going to her… I knew something like this would eventually happen, because there's no way you can get away with that. It's terrible."

This is not the first time Perez has seen trouble: she has previous convictions of writing bad checks and shoplifting. The judge released Perez on house arrest and confiscated her passport. She faces up to 25 years if convicted.
