So……who loves 'Mad Men'? I think its safe to say at this point, by grabbing at any mention of the show that I can find, that I do. Which is why I was so pumped this morning to see the dazzling face of Christina Hendricks aka Joan Halloway shining back at me from many a media page. Hendricks has been tapped to star in the fall ad campaign for timeless trench coat label, London Fog. Set to drop in October in such heavyweight titles as Elle, Cosmopolitan and InStyle, (as well as on billboards and online), the black and white spread features Hendricks looking as vixen as ever, enswathed in the luxe London Fog trenches and accessories, and of course showing off her voluptuous, pin-up girl figure. The campaign was shot by Nino Muñoz and created by an in-house team at
Iconix Brand Group, which owns the label and licenses it in a number of
apparel and accessories categories.
“London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties into
‘Mad Men’ — we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to
tie everything together,” Hendricks said of the campaign. “The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women.
It worked in the 1960s and it works now.” Previous London Fog spokespeople including Gisele
Bündchen, Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria Parker and Tony Parker, but Hendricks carves out a new era for the London Fog name by being the first spokesmodel with a somewhat lifelike figure, and for that we applaud her!
