I swear it's deja vu all over again! Another week, another pound lost. Just once I would like to see the scale read 2-3 pounds off in a week, but I suppose I should not complain. It's far better than the weight pouring on (something I am used to). Fashion Week is less than a week away and while I am not exactly where I had hoped I'd be (10 pounds lighter than I am today) most of my clothes are at least fitting. In fact, the jeans above were a size smaller than I had expected (more on that in another post).
What I have realized this week is that age is definitely slowing down my metabolism. I have always battled the same ten pounds, but I used to be able to cut my portions a bit and eat healthy and the weight would come off easier. I have also noticed that my body has changed since I had my son 10 months ago. That was to be expected, but couple that with a slowing metabolism and I'm seriously distraught. I don't think I will ever have flat abs again, but it doesn't stop me from doing crunches while I watch Bravo.
One thing motivating me is that people are starting to make comments like "Wow. You are getting skinny." I'm trying! Truth be told I am getting really tired of my Nutrisystem lunch and dinners. I still love my breakfasts and desserts though! Three months of this is enough for me. I long for sushi and grilled fish…but I keep plugging away. As for drinking enough water, I'm trying! No worries, I should drop a couple of pounds during Fashion Week. Nobody eats, there isn't time.
