Summary: Christian Siriano's Spring '11 collection was inspired by African, Indian and Chinese influences mixed with his signature elegant opulence. Ok, that's what the program said. Basically it translated into
gorgeous prints that were all over the place. At the beginning of the show the looks really worked. Particularly the metallic dresses with sheer chiffon draped across them. Then towards the middle of the show I found myself rather bored. The ruffles just got bigger and the croc-patterned brocade safari suit totally did not work. However the last two looks literally made the audience gasp and clap. Finally Christian Siraiano let his hair down. Were they ridiculous? Yes. But they were an ode to the designer we fell in love with on Project Runway.
