The recent New York Fashion Week was all about the looks we will be wearing this spring. Yet it just became fall, and who wants to wait? Don’t fret! It’s okay to be inspired by the new fashion season, and you can incorporate it now! Here is how you can recreate a few of the looks from Spring 2011 Fashion Week, and some products to accomplish the task.
First, a look we saw on the runway was bright bold lips from reds to corals. It was seen at many shows, and it is one trend that never goes out of style. The red lip is a classic like the ‘little black dress’. Whenever I put on a red lip, it instantly gives me the feeling that I can conquer anything. One of my favorite red’s is Make Up For Ever’s new Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in # 8. It is a beautiful blue/red color that works on just about anyone.Â
Another trend seen on the runways was glowing skin. How can this ever go out of style? The look of healthy, glowing skin is something we all want, to make us look our most radiant. To help achieve this look, you can use a foundation like NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, buffed into skin, or MAC’s Strobe Cream mixed in with your regular foundation. Both of these applications are sheer enough to make it look like your glow is coming from within.
A classic look on the Spring 2011 runway was eyeliner. At many shows, homage was paid to 60’s Icons and their bold, feminine looks. To create this winged-eye look, all is needed is a basic eyeliner like Styli-Stylie’s Liquid Liner. This liner is effortless to put on and stays all day! We all can channel our inner feline… meow!!
We also saw color on the runway, and yellow was one of those colors that stood out above the rest. I know that yellow shadow is not something you would wear everyday, but there is something you can use that gives just about the same impact. MAC’s Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in Pure Show is a beautiful sheer yellow-gold pearl liner that can be used just above the lash line. It brightens your look with just the right amount of a subtle yellow color.Â
Last but not least for spring, we saw lots of metallics. From Brazilian babes to metallic warriors, it was seen everywhere on the runways. This too is a trend that we can use for fall. Antique, rose, and gold metallics are best for fall, as they are warm and not overpowering. To get the look try a metallic eyeshadow pallette like Maybelline’s Eye Studio Copper Chic Eye Shadow Quad, or MAC’s Pigments in ‘Leopard Luxe’ or ‘Bermese Beauty’. They are beautiful to use, as just a wash of color on the lid.
