When I was asked to join the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony 100 Bloggers Unite Against Cancer campaign- (for breast cancer awareness,) how could I say no? How could anyone? Not only was I able to model my average self in a skinny fit Ralph Lauren polo, I am able to help promote a cause I believe very strongly in. In fact every women with two breasts should feel strongly for this cause and not just in October, but all year long. The sad reality is if you don't already know somebody who has had breast cancer, you will.
“I am so proud of the work Pink Pony has accomplished over the last 10 years,” said Ralph Lauren. “We are committed to the global fight against cancer and will continue to help change the lives of so many affected families.”
Launched in 2000, the mission of Pink Pony is to reduce disparities in cancer care in medically underserved communities and ensure that treatment is available at an earlier, more curable stage. The Pink Pony Fund supports programs for cancer screening, early diagnosis, treatment, research and patient navigation. Since it's inception a decade ago, the Pink Pony Fund has made philanthropic contributions and partnered internationally with some of the world’s leading cancer organizations. In 2003 Polo Ralph Lauren furthered its commitment to the fight against cancer by establishing the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention in Harlem, a unique partnership with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
To kickoff this global fundraising and awareness campaign, Polo Ralph Lauren will present the first annual global Pink Pony Online Auction in partnership with Charity Buzz. The auction will showcase over 100 exceptional items ranging from celebrity experiences to limited-edition Ralph Lauren product. 100% of the net proceeds from this auction will benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation. The auction begins Friday, October 1st and runs through October 21st at charitybuzz.com/RalphLauren.
For the first time, Ralph Lauren will offer limited-edition luxury items to mark this momentous occasion – an alligator Ricky 33 handbag, an alligator Cooper Check
Book Wallet, an alligator cuff with Cooper Lock and the iconic Ralph Lauren Stirrup Timepiece. 100% of the sale of these limited-edition luxury items will benefit the Pink Pony Fund. Additionally, on October 3rd and 4th, 100% of all net proceeds received from Pink Pony product sold at Ralph Lauren stores and on RalphLauren.com will benefit the Pink Pony Fund. Please join the cause. It will take a lot more than 100 bloggers to conquer this insidious disease.
