Get ready to see your life in 3-D (?)! Polarized 3-D glasses are set to become to as everyday sunglasses.
This comes from Marchon executives, who saw the glasses unveiled at a Vision Expo West in Last Vegas. There are already several sunglasses brands that are catering to the 3-D world, including Nike, ck Calvin Klein Eyewear and Nautica Eyewear. Launches at Silmo by Marchon included Lacoste’s new men’s and women’s eyewear line and Nike’s new Nike Vintage eyewear line, which already has a viral campaign underway.
Large quantities of passive-system 3-D technology-embedded TVs, laptops and games currently being shipped to stores for the holiday season could translate into a major volume increase for the industry. This means within the next two to three years, there will be more placement ranging of everything to iPods, televisions and more 3-D movies a year.
Marchon3D plans to distribute non-designer 3-D specs in theaters, likely from the first quarter of next year.
