Great news in the world of beauty this morning! Diane von Furstenberg has just signed a deal with ID Beauty to launch a fell-fledged beauty line including a women's fragrance, skincare and color cosmetics.
“I have always been interested in the intimacy of the relationship between beauty products and women,” continued von Furstenberg, who is actually a longtime veteran of fragrance and cosmetics industry. In the Seventies, von Furstenberg introduced a scent named Tatiana and a makeup line, but it was sold in 1983 to Beecham. Von Furstenberg said her dream had always been to work with Chantal Roos, the former president of YSL Beauté. “I was always so impressed with the quality of the products that she developed,” said von Furstenberg. So for the past year and a half the duo has been developing the fragrance and together, both deciding that ID Beauty would be the partner of choice for the venture.
As for the skincare and cosmetics, Von Furstenberg said life experience has given her legitimacy in skin care, while color cosmetics is a natural offshoot of her years and years of fashion genius. “All I want is to make women feel like they can be the women they want to be,” von Furstenberg noted. “That message is so strong that now we have to put it in a bottle, in a tube, in a spray, in a jar and in a color.” We can't wait to see how it all turns out!
