New York native, Ralph Lauren is set to receive the key to the city. Today he will be the first fashion designer to receive this emblem of prestigious honor for his philanthropic spirit and diligent work in the Big Apple. The iconic designer holds a highly regarded place in the fashion industry due to his mastery of all things American. He has contributed hugely to the support of the New York economy by employing over 3000 individuals in his corporate offices, and also shows a personal support to some of the city’s most attractive landmarks: Lincoln Center and Central Park. The Bronx born designer is set to appear at the grand opening of the newly constructed Ralph Lauren flagship store on Madison Avenue (boasting 22,000 square feet), which will also be the venue for the receiving of the key ceremony with Mayor Bloomberg.
