A Dress For Every State

50Artist Robin Barcus Slonina has taken on a very unique challenge.Robin has decided to create fifty dresses, each one representing on of the states. Each dress represents the state in one way or another and are sculpturally stunning. 

You can track Robin's progress on her blog all about her art project aptly titled "States of Dress." Robin is from Chicago and sold all of her belongings except what she could fit into a van to start accomplish her journey to create all fifty dresses

Using materials and design aspects that best represent each state,Robin thoughtfully puts together these gorgeous gowns to pay homage to the state they emulate. When looking at her wearable art, you will smile at the whimsy of her creations and the care she  puts into them. Some of her dresses include a corn dress for Iowa, a poker chip dress for Nevada, and a couture garbage bag gown for New York.
