Contributing editor at Vogue (formerly editor-at-large) and everyone's favorite muumuu-wearing industry male, Andre Leon Talley, is gearing up for his now regular stint as the host and adviser at the annual Manolo Blahnik sample sale, happening  tomorrow.

It all started last year, when Talley (otherwise known as ALT) attended his first Manolo sample sale with a friend who wanted his advice. He ended up becoming the go-to guidance for the entire mob crowd. “People saw me there and were asking, ‘Oh, should I buy this or that?’ ” Talley remembers. “And [Manolo’s people] said the next year, [I] should just come and host the sale.”

ALT has now become known for letting down his veil of exclusivity to hang with the masses, calling his role at the sale, “one of [his] favorite things to do.” Talley's visibility has increased dramatically since his days as Anna Wintour's BFF (though he still is), especially since he began sitting on the ever-changing judging panel of Tyra Banks' “America’s Next Top Model,” America's favorite closet obsession.“My visibility went way up,” he told The New York Post of his “Top Model” gig, coining now mainstream terms like “Declassé” and “dreckitude” while mercilessly critiquing the would-be model contestants.

Add his likeability on the show to being able to reach out and actually touch him at the Blahnik sample sale (but don't do that), and one of the most enigmatic and enviable figures in fashion has become downright accessible. We love you ALT!
