Mark your calendars for December 10th! That is the day our beloved Windy City finally gets a taste of the eclectic modernism and quintessential English design that can only be accredited to Ted Baker. Baker is opening up his first ever Chicago store located on among the elegant wares of North Rush St.
The 2180 sq ft storefront will boast glittering holiday window displays upon its opening. Upon venturing inside, shoppers will encounter the 'windy city' brought to life via unusual angles on walls and ceilings, exposed industrial flooring and distorted wooden, fabric and glass tiles, arranged as if blown by a gust of wind and scattered mercilessly along a store wall. The remaining walls are paneled in rusted metal or feature a more traditional, slightly dilapidated English style.
And that's just the store! As for the fall 2010 collection, Baker makes a stark statement with an overall blacked-out interior featuring bright touches and accents and providing the perfect showcase for the bold colors and prints for which he is known. The Ted Baker release states,"At first glance the collections may appear to be the epitome of sartorial simplicity, but a closer inspection offers an explosion of playful detailing, exquisite cuts and clever attention-to-detail. From sophisticated daywear to more luxurious pieces for men and women, there is something for all who prefer a bit of passion in their wardrobe."
Ray Kelvin, Founder and CEO of Ted Baker says,"With the opening of our first Chicago location, I am excited not only for the opportunity to expand the brand's reach within the United States, but also, for the chance to further showcase our fun, cheeky attitude. Its playful detailing and distinct form of retail theatre allows guests to act as both consumers of our unique wares and voyeurs into the Ted Baker lifestyle." Welcome to Chicago Ted Baker! See you December 10th.
