Louis Vuitton Knocks Out Knock-Offs

November 11, 2010 • Fashion

Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but Louis Vuitton doesn't see it that way. Unless you've been wearing Lady Gaga's bejeweled sunglasses for your entire life, you probably see at least a handful of counterfeit Louis Vuitton bags stroll by you on a daily basis. Some are blatantly fake with different letters on them, while some are so spot on you have to check the tag to be sure.

Soon, all the bags we see will be the real thing if the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement have their way. In 2004, they seized over 2 million c purses from people trying to smuggle them into the country. Because of the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement bringing down an iron fist, in this fiscal year only 200,000 bags have been seized.

Although the problem is decreasing, online sales are still a major issue and somehow large shipments are still getting through port cities like New York and Los Angeles

Help support designers and don't buy counterfeit goods. Designers work hard on their art and they don't do it so you can buy a cheaper version off a street stand. If you think a bag is fake and the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Step away from the fakes and invest in a unique bag that isn't breaking any laws.
