Vera Wang Only Doing Bridesmaid Dresses at David’s

November 17, 2010 • Fashion

Um, aren't all the bridal party dresses is what Vera Wang most known for? Colored me confused.

Starting this past Monday, Vera Wang's 100-plus stores stopped taking orders for bridal-party wear. The house o' celebrity brides has decided to just design bridesmaids dresses for David's Bridal. Mario Grauso, CEO of Vera Wang, has confirmed the information, noting that the stores will honor previous orders and the bridesmaid business will shift over completely to David's Bridal. Wang’s store, Maids on Madison in New York, which did the bulk of Wang’s bridesmaid business, will remain the site for high-end bridal fittings.

The arrangement will begin with wedding gowns this February at 150 David’s Bridal stores, and the line will expand to bridesmaids’ dresses and shoes. According to Grauso, the White by Vera Wang bridesmaids’ dresses, which will hit stores in June and July, will retail from $150 to $200. Wang's bridal line is also launching at David's Bridal in upcoming February.

This makes perfect sense because really, who cares about the bridemaids' dresses besides the bride? It's just another torture device we do for our stupid friends because we love them… or so I've been told.
