Karl Lagerfeld Coming to Macy’s?

November 24, 2010 • Fashion

You actually thought that Karl Lagerfeld shopped at Macy's? With … regular people?! How dare you?!!? You should take one crisp white glove, slap yourself silly for ever thinking such a thing, then come back and read the rest of this post. We'll wait.

This is actually clever placement. According to an exclusive on MediaBistro's UnBeige, Mr. Chanel himself will be creating a collaboration project: Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's. The collection is rumored to be the whole enchilada with everything from denim to gowns but nothing has been officially confirmed.

MediaBistro pretty much admitted the fact without saying it. "Speculation about the venture has been rampant since early September, when Lagerfeld announced that he would not be showing his signature collection during Paris Fashion Week and instead had a fast fashion line in the works…. 'I wanted this for a long time,' Lagerfeld told WWD. 'I prefer to work in another way. I can’t compete with Chanel. I don’t want to be the poor child of myself. This has been my vision for years.'"

Well, maybe this collection will be sold online, giving other people a chance to sleep in and not wait in the cold at 5 am. Yeah,… I'm looking at you H&M!
