Buried in a small article about the newly appointed chief merchant and executive vice president overseeing all of women’s and Barneys.com operations, (so small we almost missed it)…was some shocking news. According to WWD, Julie Gilhart, senior vice president and women’s fashion director, is apparently leaving to "pursue other opportunities." Some credit her for launching eco-fashion into the mainstream. We hope she is up to something BIG, because this is just shocking! We fear many more changes are to come for the embattled luxury retailer.
