Remember the days of going to the drugstore and binging on Wet 'n' Wild products? For less than twenty bucks you could scoop up an impressive bounty of frosty lipsticks and electric-colored liners that you couldn't wait to go home and experiment with. And if one wasn't your color, who cared! It was only 99 cents.
Well it's time to start counting those pennies again because the Wet ‘n’ Wild cosmetic line is in the midst of a major overhaul with new products, expanded availability and upgraded marketing efforts all thanks to the company's owner, Markwins Beauty Products Inc. The new products, shipping for early 2011, will have new packaging and a fresh new logo but will maintain the same budget-friendly pricepoint, according to Anita Jennison, the company's marketing director. Whew!
Some of the notable new products include MegaLash Clinical Serum and MegaLash Clinical Mascara. Skincare from Wet 'n' Wild? We're definitely curious. “We aren’t the first with a serum,” acknowledged Jennison, “but we are bringing innovation to consumers at a value.” The serum will retail for $6.99; the mascara for $4.99 and both products will be launched in a combination package. The company is also adding a MegaLength Waterproof Mascara priced at $2.99.
Other changes will include more vibrant Color Icon shadows with 30 percent more pigment and pearlized effects. The best-selling trios offer three complementary shades and a “How To” map on the package. And in lips, the company will add sheer gels and a lip liner. Finally, as the best-selling beauty product of the moment, the makeup line's makeover had to include nail color as well. Priced at $1.99, the Wet 'n' Wild fast-dry nail color line will appear in a sleek new bottle should reportedly put Wet ‘n’ Wild in the ranks with other household name brands, such as Sinful and Sally Hansen. Stay tuned for all these fun and fancy new changes at Wet 'n' Wild, set to roll out in the beginning of next year!
