British-based designer Alice Temperley has just announced she will once again be showing her luxe and artful Temperley London line back in its birthright home. Temperley has been showing both her Temperley London and her diffusion line, Alice by Temperley in New York for the past few years. I myself had the privilege of attending two Temperley presentations at MAC studios during fashion week, one styled as a vaudevillian circus and one as a high society tea party.
Alas, now the designer, whose studio is based in London, will present her fall 2011 collection in a runway show as part of London Fashion Week in February, which coincidentally coincides with the label’s 10th anniversary.
Temperley has become known for her eccentrically-styled presentations and film installations in lieu of traditional runway shows. Her colorful presence in New York will indeed be missed. “We have tremendously enjoyed working with different creative teams for the last four seasons in New York, showcasing our collection in new and novel ways." Temperley said. "However, we belong here in London, being a true British brand, and are delighted to be back and showing for our 10th-year celebrations.” The label’s 10th anniversary is also being celebrated with the creation of an exclusive capsule collection for outdoor-wear company Barbour’s Gold Label line, which will launch for fall 2011.
