There’s a reason people always say that women dress for other women – most typical “haute-chic†pieces are far more appealing to our fellow fashionable females than those who might be more interested in what’s underneath our designer labels. That said, I love the haute-style pieces as much as the next girl, it is just nice to get an outside perspective once in a while.
Platform Pumps: Leave all the extra frills behind and go with an elegant platform, like these Giuseppe Zanotti peep blush-colored slingbacks.
Solid Colors, Sleek Lines: Sometimes basic is best; try a dress with a classic silhouette in an eye-catching shade, like this Grecian-inspired Temperley silk charmeuse number.
White Pants: Perhaps not the most seasonal item (although you could always go with winter white) but
Knee Boots: This one is simple – leather boots with any sort of classic heel that reach the bottom of the knee, like the Calvin Klein Mattie boot.
Flattering Hues: Forget what’s trendy and wear the color that makes you look amazing; for example, blue-eyed girls would look striking in this Burberry Brit cashmere sweater.
Of course, I don’t advocate tailoring your wardrobe solely to get this kind of attention, but it is definitely something to keep in mind when you need inspiration when planning your next fabulous ensemble.
