I admit, I was first introduced to Leighelena jigsaw cuffs from reading my friend Jean's blog, Girl at the Mirror. Jean has a great fashion sense and one I related to. Yet I am usually not a copycat. Then I noticed Chef Casey Thompson wearing one on Top Chef All-Stars and I knew I had to have one (or two).
Leighelena accessories are the creation of Texas native Leigh Navarro. The line began with handcrafted enamel jewelry. But it's her newest additions to her line and which I am obsessed with; her collection of handmade, jigsaw bracelets made of exotic materials and classic, streamlined hardware.
Genuine leather from a local craftsman on the Mexican border and the antique stamps gathered by both her grandfather and herself are just a few of the unique findings behind her collection. Each piece is handmade in Leigh’s studio in Austin, TX, and she uses post-consumer product in all levels of her finished pieces.
Be warned, the selection is huge so picking one is difficult. I decided upon one wide and one skinny jigsaw cuff and cleverly thought they would be the perfect gift from my son for Christmas (thanks Liam!). I have hardly had them off since I received them.
