Beauty From The Kitchen: Coconut Oil

January 18, 2011 • Beauty, Yahoo

Ginnifer Goodwin praises sesame oil, beauty experts have been suggesting olive oil for ages, but there's a new oil in town and it's kicking all other cooking oil to the curb. Coconut oil has mainly been reserved at obscure health food stores, but it's starting to creep into your supermarket and now it should creep into your beauty routine.

Coconut oil comes as a solid in a glass jar, all you need to do it heat it up in its jar in the microwave or in a saucepan full of water. Once liquified use it on everything. Slather it in your mane and let it sit for thirty minutes before you shower, put in on rough and dry skin, and it even heals cracked lips from the point of no return!

Coconut oil's fast absorption into skin and lack of scent is great so you don't smell like an Italian restaurant or a stir fry. Plus it's always nice to use a beauty product in its purest form to cut out all the chemicals!

A few months of dry winter skin left and coconut oil is just the thing to get you through.
