Vivienne Westwood picked the perfect time to launch her latest venture. The designer couldn't be more in the spotlight this week, after being repsonsible for Helena Bonham Carter's eccentric Golden Globe gown which sparked many a fashion discussion. Some applauded the actress for sticking to her signature quirkiness in the ensemble, complete with mismatched shoes, while others insisted Carter is the latest definition of the red carpet "Don't". Either way, it was Westwood who is garnering the fame (or infamy). Now the British-born legend has announced a partnership with Palladium Alliance International on a collection of jewelry inspired by nature.

The limited edition Palladium Collection, called  “Get a Life”,  will debut at London Fashion Week in February, and then be sold exclusively at Westwood’s boutiques in London and Los Angeles starting in the spring, according to WWD. The pieces in the collection are inspired by nature and by pagan symbols such as the acorn, the oak tree and the heart. The collection will feature pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings for men and women. Prices will range from 275 pounds to 550 pounds, or $435 to $869 at current exchange.

Westwood, an active conservationist, said she took on the project to highlight her concern for the environment. “‘Get a Life’ is about how we stop climate change and therefore preserve life for the next generation while at that same time get a better life,” Westwood said. “My focus at the moment is what one person can do. Stop climate change. Save the planet. The acorn is symbolic of the rainforest, its importance, and how it is our first duty to save it.” Palladium is a precious metal similar platinum, yet is more environmentally friendly due to it's naturally white color, ability to maintain its color over time, and lightweight and durable consistency.
