Happy Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! And to get everyone in the proper spirit, we've got some serious designer dish for you. Fresh off their very public (borderline controversial) involvement with the costuming for the movie "Black Swan", the Mulleavey sisters of Rodarte are getting back into fashion with a bang. The duo has teamed up with, who else, uber-chic New York retailer Opening Ceremony for an exclusive capsule collection ( I rarely like to quote Rachel Zoe but, "I DIE!").
The collection is launching TODAY at the and will feature, as WWD states, " a lineup that derives from their exquisitely artful Rodarte-ness as clearly as it is distinct from it; Rodarte for Opening Ceremony is more whimsical and temperate of design, while less aggressive, dark and fantastical, though with a subtle elegiac quality to the faded floral prints and controlled bohemian mood." The pieces will retail from around $250 to $2,200 and will highlight the sisters' first venture into menswear as well.
In addition to Opening Ceremony stores in New York, L.A. and Tokyo, founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon will place the collection in 40 stores worldwide with whom they do business, including all Barneys New York doors, Holt Renfrew, Podium in Moscow and DNA in Saudi Arabia.
