Summary: Nicholas K designer Nicholas Kunz is going casual and comfy for Fall '11. Who can blame her? There were men's and womens' clothes but alas we are only going to talk about the women's. Besides I don't know too many men who could confidently pull off velvet cargo pants. Much like her Spring '11 collection (which I adored) fall is going to bring back the cargo pant, but this time with a rugged almost grunge feel. Aside form the women's black velvet cargo pants (which I must own) I was drawn to the color palette which was predominately muted forest colors like greens, rusts and greys. Plaids and knits were layered with chiffon like shirts and draped scarves which was easy casual. The leather and Mongolian lamb fur jackets and parkas were truly covetable.
I wasn't so sold on the skirt shirts with arms that wrapped around and tied in the front, but am sure this was done for effect for the show, at least I hope. That is one look that's a little too grunge for me. Again this season I loved the Vintage Shoe Company leather combat boots on both the men and women. I'm not sure I am sold on the 'flatform' leather boots though which we are staring to see crop up in sandal form for Spring. Who knows? By next fall I may love them.
