Summary: British designer Nonoo's first full ready-to-wear collection, shown today at Milk Studios, was a definite success. The lookbook given to everyone who attended the presentation notes that Nonoo is "inspired by the heritage and aristocracy of her home country." Feeling pristinely British — yet not pretentiously so — Nonoo's collection shines with exquisite tailoring, made from fine fabrics that radiate luxury.

A simple color palette — black, navy and beige dominate throughout — it's the delicate details that make this collection standout. The subtle way each of Nonoo's clean-lined dresses accenuate the female form, or the appearance of lace detailing running down the sleeves of a cream silk blouse (also worn by the designer as she moved about the presentation room, chatting with patrons). The lack of accessories, and black platform patent pumps throughout allowed the focus to be on the clothes — ultimately, a collection of looks that would flatter and accentuate the femininity of woman of all ages; timeless pieces that would last in your wardrobe forever.

Nonoo's presentation room was scattered with classic, old-world trunks and images from the lookbook featuring the designer's clothing against a stately English landscape. The service of tea and cookies made for a complete, and uniquely classic, British experience. One that will certainly be welcomed in the wardrobe of American women for years to come.
