Summary: A light breeze (or a tornado, depending on where you were sitting) blew through the fashionistas, celebrities and light chiffon dresses at the Fall 2011 BCBGMAXZRIA show. Tangerines and cobalt blues added more a pop to what could have been seen as a drab and weary autumn, completely covered by wool coats and faux furs. The blue hues and red-oranges were prominent and center stage throughout the collection after last season's nude and beige bonanza. Color-blocking and light colored piping also helped bring in more colors in unexpected ways.
Once again, Azria's preference for simplicity shines through with the rows and rows of layered chiffon, silk and crepe dresses he created for the upcoming fall. Sculptural accessories in luxurious leathers helped shape the airy dresses and give them more depth and structured elegance. Let's hope that Azria keeps it up and keeps bringing the color for Spring 2012.
