Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NY Fall ’11. Beauty At Carmen Marc Valvo

February 13, 2011 • Beauty, New York Fashion Week Fall '11, Yahoo

Just as my last few shows were winding down and was almost time to head back home I felt like one of the best was the perfect way to end my Fashion Week coverage. I was excited and anticipating covering Carmen Marc Valvo's show, not only because I always love the collection, but because one of my favorites, M•A•C Senior Artist Romero Jennings, would be keying makeup. I can't tell you how much I adore Romero, his energy, creativity, talent and personality is like no other. I knew I was in for a great time backstage at Carmen Marc Valvo.

As I was ushered to the 2nd floor at NASDAQ, I noticed how everyone was so inviting. From the front desk check-in to the shows host to the PR, everyone was very helpful. I was soon taken to Romero after taking a few pictures of those in hair and makeup, and with his beaming smile and obvious sincerity, he began to tell me about the inspiration behind the look for the show.

Cmv Romero said he wanted to a really clean fresh look " fresh, and romantic, and something the everyday woman can wear". He wanted to also mimic the movement of the designer's gowns, free and flowy. I thought it was genius to have such a elegant showing, in an environment I'm sure is everything but.
As animated as he is Romero then began to show all of the products he was using in full demonstration, making me want to own everything, but of course I couldn't because half of the products are not even out yet! I did notice he was using lots of creams, from one of my favorites, Cream Blushes Posey to a beautiful lilac Creme sheen M•A•C that has not yet launched. Romero emphasized that he wanted everyone to be able to create this look and make it achievable with minimal products. So without further ado, you too can get the look from Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 11'.
