One way to beat the winter blues is to start organizing your wardrobe for the upcoming warmer seasons – and fortunately, the Pantone color report for the spring 2011 season was recently released in order to help with the planning and acquisitions process. The list is full of warm pastel and tropical shades that are sure to make anyone think spring.

Honeysuckle Pink is one of the trendiest shades, and it can be quite flattering on most skin tones. This slinky Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress is girly but sleek and sexy at the same time.

Speaking of pink, Silver Peony is another soon-to-be popular shade. This ethereal hue is the angelic cousin of the bolder honeysuckle pink, and it is perfect for delicate accessories like these rosebud trimmed taffeta Badgley Mischka sandals.

A perfect partner to Silver Peony is the soft gray Silver Cloud, like this pebbled leather Pour La Victoire drawstring handbag. Gray also works nicely with lavender, another fashionable color this spring. Try a top or cardigan like this J. Crew version in Vivid Purple – if you have blue eyes, this shade will make them pop.

Peapod Green is also a flattering option, particularly on ladies with brown or green eyes; something like this Diane Von Furstenberg poet’s blouse would be ideal tucked in narrow pants or capris.

Shades of lush blue and turquoise are a perennially warm weather favorite; this Kate Spade tote would be excellent to brighten up neutrals and it would offset the coral and orange shades that are also on the hot list.

Of course, regardless of what shades are trendy at the moment, the number one thing anyone can do to look fantastic is to wear the colors that flatter them and that they love; that said, if this spring’s shades are your cup of tea, now is the time to stock up. If not, there’s always next season!
