The start of New York Fashion Week is nothing less than exciting, insane, crazy and exhausting. However, there is always such great anticipation and the energy is incomparable. I knew this season would be a bit different as it was my first time at Lincoln Center. As I took on my first show at Erin Fetherston, I welcomed the madness we call Fashion Week!
Backstage the mood was somewhat calm, which to me gave way to the designers collection and the look that was about to grace the runway. As models were getting prepped I was able to grab a moment with Lead Artist Lucia Pica for M•A•C who gave me the inspiration behind Erin Fetherston's collection.
"Erin wanted the girls to look fairytale like, ethereal and woodland; where we created skin that was very glowy, shimmery and soft." Lucia told me. Literally the models were glowing, appeared very angelic, and gave a look of innocence. Lucia used lots of pearl creams, pigments, and just a touch of glitter under the eyes.
For hair Odile for Catwalk by TIGI's look for the models was comprised of a thick braids, that were interlocked with gold metallic thread which were very romantic and very girly. The braid was wrapped around the base of the head almost like a chignon or like a braided halo.
Pattie Yanki for Dashing Diva's left nails very natural and painted nude, to match the simplicity of the makeup and simplicity of Erin's collection.
