Summary: Upon first viewing the Callula Lillibelle Fall '11 presentation at The Box, I thought the collection looked lovely with nothing really extraordinary. But then I noticed a lot of little surprises, such as a bright blue lining peeking out from under the black rockstar maxicoat, shimmering sequins thrown on a confetti print sleeveless cocktail dress, and bright green in-your-face sequin leggings under a black tuxedo coat. There was a perfect sleeveless peplum little black dress that I adored and (surprise) there was a red exposed zipper in back!
I could not keep my eyes off the soft teal motorcycle jacket with a lush bow in back, and I thought the wide leg pant suits looked beautifully tailored, soft and easy. Then from the line sheet I found out that the Callula Lillibelle collection is (another surprise) quite affordable – the line retails between only $90 -$400, and also sized for real women 0-14. Debuting just last winter of 2010, Callula Lillibelle is the design partnership of Melanie Fraser Hart and William Calvert, and means "delicate beauty" Callula (in Latin) and "pure beauty" Lillibelle (in Irish). They set out to build a line that is real, affordable and stylish with all pieces in the line integrated to form fail-proof outfits and effortless chic, and "to eliminate clutter and closet confusion."
