Summary: Sleek and basic is the name of the game of the Fall 2011 of Sachin + Babi. The room was pumping with "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones, giving those a peek into the mind of what the designers had in mind as inspiration for the collection. Filled with furs, buckle straps and exposed zippers, the simplicity of the clothing was not lost.
Makeup in the showing was kept simple to make sure that the clothing was the main focus. Simple cat eyes and nude lips also helped to keep in line with the classic look. And going against leathers, buckles and bold accessories the makeup should not be fighting for the spotlight…
Keeping the collection to a minimalist standpoint, several looks executed the use of skinny pants using only leathers and tweeds without looking "tween-ish". Though the clothing might be a bit too simple and basic for some, the paired jewelry is definitely not for the faint of heart. Dagger dangle earrings and lucite crystal pendants with hematite pave on metal cuffs were bold statements as they were placed on the wrists, ears and necks of the models. The end result was a look that though may be misconceived as simple at first has more than meets the eye and brings on an old school, rock feel. Classic rock indeed.
