I had been having the worst luck with razors lately. I have just not liked any of them. I had found myself using my husband's "Good News" (shhh, don't tell him) because all of my 'girly' razors were not getting the job done well. Problem is, even with my gel shaving creams…my skin has been left seriously dry. Scaly dry. Especially this long, dry winter.
I'm not sure where exactly I got my Gillette Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor, but it was in some gift bag or other and I stuck it in my linen closet without a second thought. I doubted I would ever use it as I typically find pre-moisturized razors either cumbersome and/or ineffective. I don't know why I finally grabbed this razor out of the closet last week, but it could have something to do with the 3 in my shower that I collectively hate.
Well I am pleasantly surprised to report that this razor is now my favorite and the only one now residing in my shower. The Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor is designed with MoistureRich shave gel bars, enhanced with a triple blend of body butters for a comfortable shave. The 5-blades give you a close shave and the pivoting head reaches all those hard to reach areas. Now it claims all you have to do is add water for a light lather and beautifully smooth skin. This may work for me in the summer, but I am still using mine with a tiny bit of gel lather. Just a tiny bit.
It is the closest shave I have gotten in a long while and my skin is super soft. Yeah! Now if only the weather would warm up so I could show off my legs!
Be warned, the shave gel bars dissolve rather quickly in the shower, so be sure to keep it in a dry area of your shower or use the hook that comes with the razor (don't you throw those away too?).
The VenusProSkin MoistureRich Razor unit comes with two replacement razor cartridges and an in-shower hook for storage and retails at drugstores for $9.79.
