I remember my first office job out of college like it was yesterday. Sadly it wasn't. I had practically nothing to wear! It took me years to build an office appropriate wardrobe. I owned one Ann Taylor black wool blazer my mother bought I had to wear like 3 times week until I had enough money saved up to do some shopping. I think I finally burned it or maybe it just got up and walked away. I digress.
I am constantly asked by women re-entering the workforce or those just out of college with nothing but a wardrobe of sweats and Uggs, "What staples do I need to start my job with that won't break the bank?" Well come Monday, March 7, your local White House Black Market will have you covered! They are launching a super chic & incredibly affordable capsule collection specifically for for the working woman called Work Kit by White House Black Market. It's kinda like the Belly Basics Pregnancy Survival Kit…only for women who are not pregnant and need to look office appropriate. Genius.
The Work Kit capsule collection was designed with the concept of, “one piece, different ways to wear it.” There are 9 core pieces that include, a blazer, skirt, blouse, trousers, shoes, little black dress that’s appropriate for office attire, and the classic cardigan. Considering it's all versatile…what more do you need from which to build the perfect and diverse working wardrobe?
Nothing in the collection is over $150! The skirt is $78, the pants are $88, the blazer is $148, the cardigan is $78, the Oxford shirt is $68, the cardigan is $78, the heels are $98 and the belt is $38! Once you have these staples you can easily start adding more items that reflect your personal style as your paycheck allows…as these basics pretty much match with everything!
I wish someone had thought of this when I was just entering the workforce!
