Spring/SummerTrend Alert: Flatforms

March 9, 2011 • Yahoo

Ok, I have to admit something…I am not totally sold on the flatform (half flat/half platform) shoe trend. I think it screams 'fashion victim.' Something I am totally against. However, I have a feeling I could change my mind. Eventually. Fact is, they were also on the Fall 2011 runway, so clearly this trend isn't going anywhere. If you are looking to add some height without suffering in a 3 inch heel pitch flatforms could be the perfect option for you. Let's see if I break down and buy a pair. I'll keep you posted.

I immediately love – my eyes were drawn to – the Chloe! A flatform but not clunky-looking…

  2. K Muse says:

    #4, #7, #8…Yes….the rest…NO!

  3. Amy Creyer says:

I have always loved the flatform. Then again, I wore the legendary Steve Madden elastic banded platform sandals in middle school so they have a soft spot in my heart.
From a practical perspective, these are the perfect sandals to wear in the city. Unfortunately, even a city as clean as Chicago is going to have dirty streets. Flat (non-platform) sandals lead to dirty feet. Flatforms keep my feet clean while allowing me to show off my manicure. They’re win-win!
