Here's a party we wouldn't mind being invited to. Shoe guru Manolo Blahnik will be honored at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s annual fashion show on May 2, taking home a Lifetime Achievement Award from SCAD president Paula Wallace and one of our favorite people in the whole world—André Leon Talley.
Talley and Blahnik go way back, so much so that Talley had no qualms on spilling some fun facts about Blahnik at a recent fashion and film discussion at the W Hotel in London. Talley told the audience that as a child in the Canary Islands, the famous footwear designer made boots for his pet monkey and spent his spare time shooting home movies, including a version of Joan of Arc's history in which his sister starred (and was accidentally burned!)
Blahnik himself clued in the crowd on what must have been their most burning question—who gets the prize for world's most beautiful feet? Raquel Welch, who planted one on his plate at a CFDA dinner. Somehow, we're not surprised.
