Lulu Guinness just previewed her fall 2011 collection in NYC, and I’ve got all the goodies, sneak peeks, and details to dish for you. The collection keeps her signature elements, colors and shapes but tosses in several exciting new textures, embellishments, and details. Her new line was inspired by the 1950’s Parisian couture era, so the handbags really demonstrate the feminine, chic feeling of that time, while beautifully mixing in threadwork, crystals, metals, and appliqués.
The big floppy “Wanda” bow bag is the key bag of the season here. It comes in several colors and materials, and it beautifully represents Lulu’s mood of the moment. The very elegant, Parisian inspired color story includes shades of black cherry, mixed metallics, and black. And of course Lulu’s favorite animal prints, perfect quilting, feminine florals, and the lip icon remain as strong elements of the seasons pieces. Plus with enthusiastic fans like Alexa Chung, the adorable “Ezra doll face” bag pops up again for a revisiting this fall with ultra cute boxy clutches and hair accessories. My favorite was the ridiculously glam “clamshell” like lip clutches covered in Swarovski crystals! Lulu’s AW 2011 looks like tons of fun, and add a super feminine flair to any look while still keeping things classic as always. Enjoy!
