This week I hit the press preview party for Levis AW 2011 on Wooster Street in Soho. The event was perfectly pulled off, with a great atmosphere, and amazing new looks. The Bumbys were in attendance as brilliant live performers sitting in front of classic typewriters to “give brave partygoers a fair and honest opinion of their appearance”. After a long nerve-racking wait, The Bumbys started silently observing, and typing up a report on me, fortunately they gave me a very clever stamp of approval. After getting that little letter I’d love to share my own note of approval for the brand new, never sandblasted, always hand worn denim brand.
Levis are so new and so clever this time especially with unique fits such as the cycling jean with all new details to make the denim perfectly movable when riding. The yummy models hanging out in little nooks all over the space made it easy to view and snap photos of all the new styles for you all!
The models were oh so perfectly styled giving us all new updated ideas on how to mix and match our favorite everyday denims. The looks were so casual and cool with a preppy collegiate feeling, but slightly “outdoorsy” at the same time to keep things worn in and kind of grungy and not too stuffy or uptight. The all American collection consisted of our everyday casuals pulled together by mixing in some cool khakis, beat up denim jackets, a wild denim fringed tote, preppy striped sweaters and plenty of plaid button downs. One of my favorite looks incorporated a sweater knit pair of leggings under some denim shorts and a boho blouse. Also, the cozy fur lined bombers, 70s flares and ankle length skinnys helped by keeping things fresh and up to date. I loved the casual kind of 70s bohemian mood, which was mixed with the preppy, collegiate, Americana pieces. The styling was on point as always, and I know were going to have a blast mixing up our favorite denim looks from Levis this fall, I cant wait!
