Well, Jimmy Choo is no longer in the running of owning the luxury shoe label that bears his own name.
The shoe designer had declared an interest in buying back the shoe company after a public falling out with co-founder and chief creative officer Tamara Mellon in 2001 and officially sold his stake for £10m.
Towerbrook Capital, the private equity group, has already made a list of those still in the running for the company and Choo's name was nowhere to be found. The Financial Times reported that TPG Capital, a consortium of Investcorp and Labelux, and an unknown third bidder have all moved forward in the sale. LVMH has also been mentioned as a potential buyer.
This is in addition to some reports that Mellon was thinking of selling her stake and leaving the brand as well in the near future. Expect to see some huge changes (and possibly drama) at Choo in the coming months.
