For as many times as Lindsay Lohan has appeared in a courtroom over the years, one would think that by now she would know how to dress. That hasn't been the case so far this year, since her trial wardrobe has spanned as many headlines as the charges themselves. The offending looks of the past few months have included a beige rubberized Raquel Allegra minidress, a low-cut Chanel blouse paired with white Chanel trousers and the white Kimberly Ovitz minidress she donned in February, which sold out immediately after.
But trendsetting aside, Lohan's dismissive and borderline disrespectful ensembles reflect the train wreck starlet's attitude toward the whole fiasco itself—uncooperative. She seems to feel a sense of entitlement to dress however she chooses since she's forced to deal with the horrible inconvenience of the trials. Almost as if her clothing is the only thing over which she still has control.
Now it seems her lawyers have had enough since Lohan appeared for her preliminary hearing Friday morning in Los Angeles in an uncharacteristically conservative getup. She wore a black, long-sleeve, crewneck Wolford top and blue high-waisted vintage Lanvin trousers, accessorized with black Lanvin platforms, a white scarf and black Fendi bag. Lohan chose last month to stand trial rather than accept a plea bargain in this latest case, in which Venice Beach jewelry store Kamofie & Co. alleges she tried to steal a $2,500 necklace.
Unfortunately, Lohan's efforts were too little too late since the judge threw the proverbial book at her, sentencing her to 120 days in jail for violating her probation. Lohan made bail and her lawyer is currently appealing the sentence. She is now set to appear at a May 11 arraignment and a new trial date for the necklace charge has been set for June 3. So it seems the never-ending game continues of 'What Will Lilo Wear to Court Next?'
